- Discover the Isabel Stuart Gardner Museum on “Museum Row,” host of one of the most incredible collections of impressionist paintings in the world.
- Visit Harvard University with its collection of 15 museums scattered around Cambridge. The Fogg Museum is Harvard’s oldest art museum and contains many famous masterworks, including paintings and sculpture by Cézanne, Degas, Monet, Matisse, Picasso, and Van Gogh.
- Take an afternoon stroll through Boston Public Gardens, the oldest botanical garden in the United States, and get a feel for Boston’s charm and grace. The park’s pond has been famous since 1877 for its swan boats, which offer leisurely cruises during warmer months.
- Visit the USS Constitution Museum and learn about the ship’s 200-year history. First launched in the late-18th century, it is now recognized as the world’s oldest commissioned warship. Museum attractions include hands-on exhibits, interactive programs, artwork, historic artifacts, and a gift shop.
- Browse through the popular outdoor SoWa Market Place (May-October), a paradise for antique, jewelry, and fresh produce enthusiasts.
- Pull up a bar stool and enjoy a cool drink at the original Cheers pub, “Where Everybody Knows Your Name.” Wrap your tastebuds around a succulent Norm Burger or buy a souvenir T-shirt or glass.
- Visit the park where the Babe pitched, the Kid hit, Yaz dazzled, and Ortiz still thrills young fans today. Fenway Park is the oldest and smallest major league baseball park. Take in a game or enjoy a tour of this historic venue. Visits include a 50-minute walking tour, guided by an official Fenway Park Tour Guide. Tours are offered from 9 am-4 pm every hour on the hour or until 3 hours before game time.
- Sample beer at the Sam Adams Brewery. Tours are free, offered Monday-Saturday, and take approximately one hour. Learn how this American favorite is made, sample hops, and enjoy a beer tasting at the end of the tour.
- Walk the Freedom Trail, a 2.5-mile red-brick trail that leads you to 16 nationally significant historic sites. The Freedom Trail is a unique collection of museums, churches, meeting houses, burying grounds, parks, a ship, and historic markers that tell the story of the American Revolution and beyond.
- Spend some time at Faneuil Hall Market, Boston’s central meeting place. Here you will find an array of shops, restaurants, and outdoor entertainment.
- Get panoramic views of Boston at the Skywalk Observatory at the Prudential Tower.
- Tour the Paul Revere House. On the night of April 18, 1775, silversmith Paul Revere left his small wooden home in Boston’s North End and set out on a journey that would make him a legend. Today that home is still standing at 19 North Square and has become a national historic landmark. It is downtown Boston’s oldest building and one of the few remaining from an early era of Colonial America.
